New Benches for Historic Town Cemetery

The historic Falmouth Town Cemetery in Pennance road where famous local artist Henry Scott Tuke is laid to rest, has received 15 brand new visitor benches to replace the previous ones that were time expired and vandalised.

These new benches were funded by Falmouth Town Council and installed by the Town Council Sexton Lee Mitchell. Lee also cut and cleared a site and installed a brand new bench at the poignant Home Guard Memorial on Pennance point. They are substantial in construction and should survive the elements for a long time.

Town Mayor Michael Varney stated that he was delighted that the Town Council could quickly react to requests from Falmouth residents and recommended that mourners and residents alike should visit the cemetery and utilise the new benches to reflect upon loved ones that have passed away or just simply to enjoy the tranquil and wooded setting.
