Free Family Workshop: Pilchard Matchboxes

Join us at the Gallery for our free Family Workshop, inspired by our current Exhibition: Magic of Movement: Automata and the Memory Cafe.

Charles Napier Hemy kept a tank of pilchards in his home as inspiration for his incredible pilchard paintings. Paul Spooner made an amazing automata illustrating this – so, using paint, pens, glue and shiny material, we’ll be making our very own personal pilchard matchboxes so you can be inspired anywhere!

Drop in any time between 10am and 1pm. All materials are provided, all ages welcome!
