Magic of Movement: Automata and the Memory Cafe
This exhibition investigates how the unique movements, participatory nature, and stories told by automata can serve as powerful catalysts for connection, personal interpretation, and in–the–moment well-being.
Come and experience the magical movement of automata from the Falmouth Art Gallery Collection, and discover the stories that emerged when we took a travelling automata exhibition across Cornwall to people living with memory loss attending memory cafes.
Featuring automata by Fi Henshall, Keith Newstead, Peter Markey, Paul Spooner and Carlos Zapata plus paintings by Winifred Freeman, Charles Napier Hemy, John Singer Sargent and John William Waterhouse.
