The Planning Portal is the Government’s online planning and building regulations resource for England and Wales. it includes lots of information on the background to Neighbourhood Plans.
The Cornwall Local Plan Strategic Policies document sets out the strategic land use policies to meet Cornwall’s economic, environmental and social needs and aims for the future. It will form the framework for all development and supplementary planning documents, and our Neighbourhood Plan.
A good Plan can only come out of a well planned process, that ensures that our arrangements are sound, that our resources are adequate, and that we follow a logical sequence of events.
Therefore we have devised a Project Plan.
The development of the Falmouth Neighbourhood Plan is managed by the Stakeholder Group. Here are the Terms of Reference for the Group.
On 23rd March the 6 week community engagement period, seeking to gather the views of local people, kicked off with a Press launch followed by a presentation to the Falmouth Town Council’s Annual Parish Meeting.

For a Neighbourhood Plan to reach its full potential in delivering sustainable development as part of the statutory planning framework, and have real local credibility, it must be prepared by the community that lives in, works in and uses the neighbourhood.
Cornwall Council has formally ‘Designated’ the Falmouth Neighbourhood Area under the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2012.
