Town Mayor’s Charity Ball Raises Over £2,700 for Pendennis Leisure
The Mayor of Falmouth, Cllr Alan Jewell, held his Charity Ball on Saturday 7 February 2026 at the Castle View Restaurant at the Falmouth Hotel, bringing together members of the local community for an evening of celebration and fundraising.
A total of 80 guests attended the event, including the local MP, town mayors, councillors, representatives from local businesses, as well as the Mayor’s family and friends. Guests were welcomed in the bar area by a local harpist, setting an elegant tone for the evening. The evening featured a three-course meal and entertainment, including a Heads and Tails game, and concluded with a disco provided by DJ Kris Kool, who kindly donated his services free of charge.
A raffle and auction held during the evening successfully raised over £2,700 for the Mayor’s chosen charity, Pendennis Leisure, which is raising funds to secure a swimming pool for Falmouth and the surrounding area. Prizes generously donated by local businesses included a buffet lunch for 35 people at Balti Curries, a voucher from Falmouth Osteopathic Clinic, a beekeeping experience, and a songwriting session for a special occasion, among many others.
Town Mayor Councillor Alan Jewell said:
“The Charity Ball highlighted the generosity and strong community spirit of the town, and I would like to extend my thanks to all attendees, donors, and local businesses who contributed to the success of the evening. I am delighted to report that during my term in office I have currently raised £9,756.82 for my charity and I hope to raise more funds in April when I plan to hold a Mayor’s Dance Party at Ships and Castle for both children and adults.”
