Cornwall Council approves £750,000 health and safety works at Ships and Castles leisure centre

Following the decision at the last meeting of the Cabinet to defer the item on the Ships and Castles leisure centre, Adam Paynter, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Resources, asked officers to re-examine the condition of the building to assess the scale of the works required to address the immediate health and safety issues.

Rotary Young Citizens Award

The Mayor met with Tony Robinson from the Rotary Club of Falmouth who, with the support of Falmouth Town Council, are setting up an annual Young Citizens Award. The award will go to a young Falmouth resident of secondary school age who has contributed to the local community by working with a voluntary organisation, assisting with town projects or helping with the vulnerable. The award will be presented by the Mayor of Falmouth in late July and the names of the recipients kept in a Book of Honour.
