The tragic news of David Lang

The tragic news of David Lang, Falmouth Town Centre Managers death in a car accident on Tuesday has shocked everyone at Carrick District Council and Falmouth Town Council.

David Lang will be sorely missed by all those who knew him. David was a proud man, passionate about Falmouth and Cornwall and whose integrity shone through to all those who met him.

Before he took on the role of Falmouth Town Centre Manager, David had senior roles in both the private and public sector, most recently as director of the Cornwall Tourism Forum.

Carrick District Council’s Chief Executive, John Winskill, said "David will always be remembered as a good man who was well respected and liked by those who worked with him and for the major contribution he has made to Falmouth and the County as a whole".

The Mayor, Councillor Mike Varney, said "this is such a sad loss. David was so enthusiastic and passionate about Falmouth and I am proud to say he was a mate of mine as he was to so many others. There will be such a void without him and we must now pull together to give the Town the Christmas that David had worked so hard for".
