Partnership will bring new town guide to Falmouth

A new guide for Falmouth is being launched after three of town’s leading organisations formed a partnership.

The 2012 Falmouth Town Guide is being produced by The Fal River Visitor Information Centre in partnership with Falmouth Town Council and Falmouth BID.

The new guide will replace the Town Council’s current bi-annual town guide and the Falmouth Tourism Partnership’s accommodation guide.

Nicola Kneebone, manager of The Fal River Visitor Information Centre, said: “We are delighted to be working so closely with Falmouth Town Council and FalmouthBIDto bring together the main marketing strands for Falmouth, and hope we are able to reach out to even more people than before.

“We want to produce an up to date and attractive guide that both visitors and our lovely local community will find of use.

“We still get many enquiries for printed material, and have found there is still a demand for this kind of guide.

40,000 of the new, free 100-page A5 pocket-sized guides will be produced in time for Easter.

It will feature information on the town including detailed mapping, shopping guide, places to eat and accommodation.

Falmouth Town Councils, Ruth Thomas, said: “Bringing two guides together to create one dedicated book for the town is something that will add value to the users.

“And with 40,000 being produced we believe it will have a positive impact on the businesses that are listed.”

Richard Wilcox, Falmouth BID manager, said: “We’re really pleased to be working in collaboration with the Fal River Visitor Information Centre and Falmouth Town Council to produce this guide.

“It’s going to really emphasize all the great things to do inFalmouth, and will be a benefit to both visitors and locals alike.”
