Mayor invites all residents to take part in Falmouth's Jubilee Parade

MAYOR INVITES ALL RESIDENTS TO TAKE PART IN FALMOUTH’S JUBILEE PARADE

Mayor Councillor Steve Eva would like to invite all residents of Falmouth to come along and join in the Jubilee fun by participating in the Town Mayor’s Jubilee Parade taking place in Falmouth on Friday 3rd June 2022 at 12.30 pm. Anyone who would like to take part in the parade is asked to meet on The Moor at 12.15 pm to join The Mayor, The Mayoress, Falmouth Town Councillors and representatives from local youth and
veterans’ associations including The Royal Navy Association, RAF Association and Sea Scouts. Led by the Falmouth Marine Band, the parade will depart from the Moor at 12.30 pm and march through the town before dismissing at Events Square. Union Jack flags are optional but very welcome.

To celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Falmouth Town Council will be hosting several different activities throughout the bank holiday weekend to mark the occasion. All the events are free, and everyone is welcome to attend and join in. Please note that the Street Party on Friday 3rd June in Market Street, whilst free, is a ticketed event. Tickets are available from Eventbrite ( the link is under the Jubilee Events section on www.falmouth.co.uk).

BEACON LIGHTING AT PENDENNIS CASTLE – Thursday 2nd June 2022 8.30 pm-9.30 pm

Following the long UK tradition of celebrating Royal Jubilees, Weddings and Coronations with the lighting of beacons, this Platinum Jubilee is no exception. Pendennis Castle will be hosting the beacon lighting on
Thursday 2nd June to officially mark the start of Falmouth’s Jubilee celebrations. The schedule for the event is as follows:

• 08:30 pm The grounds of the Castle will open to the public (please note that the buildings
will be closed except for toilets and the shop). Admission to the grounds will be free.
• 09:00 pm The Nankersey Male Choir will perform
• 09:20 pm The Mayor, Councillor Steve Eva, will say a few words
• 09.30 pm The Beacon will be lit by the Mayor and followed with a second performance by
the Nankersey Male Choir.

TOWN MAYOR’S JUBILEE PARADE – Friday 3rd June at 12.30 pm

FALMOUTH STREET PARTY – Saturday 4th June, starting at 1 pm on Market Street

Children and their parents/guardians are invited to join in the fun at this traditional-style street party on Market Street, Falmouth, from 1 pm – 4 pm on Saturday 4th June. The event is free to attend but anyone

Taking place along the length of Market Street, there’ll be a sea of Union Jacks, colourful bunting, traditional entertainment, and fun Jubilee party crowns. There’ll be some seating available, but in true British street party style, please bring along your own small chair or stool if you have one. The event aims to bring friends and families together in one place to celebrate in a unique setting. With this in mind, catering will be a mix of bringing your own picnic, with some food provided, including cocktail pasties, sausage rolls, delicious cakes, and biscuits, all kindly donated by Rowes Cornish Bakers. Please note that specific allergies cannot be catered for at the event.

JUBILEE PICNIC IN THE PARK – Sunday 5th June, Hosted by Source FM, Kimberley Park

To round off the Jubilee celebrations, why not bring your own picnic and come and listen to some live music in Kimberley Park from 12-6 pm. Hosted by Source FM, the Jubilee Picnic in the park is guaranteed to provide a musical treat for all residents and visitors alike and a fitting end to Falmouth’s weekend celebrations.
