Kimberley Park Receives Green Flag Award

Falmouth is among a record breaking 1470 green spaces across the UK to receive a Green Flag Award.

Kimberley Park has again been successful in the national award for public and community parks and green spaces which recognises well managed, high-quality green spaces. The Town Mayor will raise the green flag on Monday 28th July to celebrate, which coincides with the start of the Love Parks Week.

Town Mayor Councillor John Body said ‘Kimberley Park is a wonderful community asset close to our busy Town Centre. The Council has invested heavily in the site and it is fantastic that it has been recognised nationally’.

Cormac Solutions Ltd are contracted by the Town Council and are responsible for the grounds and facilities management in the Park, including the planting and horticultural displays. Councillor Body continued that ‘it is thanks to our excellent working partnership with Cormac, and the involvement of our community partners the Kimberley Park Residents Association and Source FM that the Park has been recognised. Lots of people have worked extremely hard for this, thank you’. Andy Hosken for Cormac agreed and said ‘We are very pleased that all the hard work and our close working relationship with the Council and community volunteers has been recognised and rewarded’.

There will be a Picnic in the Park Event on 3rd August 2014 to mark Love Parks Week and commemorate the anniversary of the start of the Great War.
