Kimberley Park is one of the best in the country - and that's official

Kimberley Park has for the second year running received a prestigious Green Flag Award in 2013.

The national award by the environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, recognises and rewards the best parks and green spaces across the county. Town Clerk Mark Williams said ‘A Green Flag flying is a sign to our residents and visitors that the Park boasts the highest possible standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent facilities.’

The Park benefits from an active residents group and a innovative working arrangement with the Councils Grounds Contractor Cormac Solutions Ltd.

Russel Hedges for the Kimberley Park Association said ‘We are absolutely delighted to receive a Green Flag for the second time. The award recognises the effort the community has invested in this site and highlights that the community benefits from a green space of the very highest quality.’

Andy Hoskin for Cormac said ‘We are thrilled that all the hard work and our close working relationship with the Town Council and community volunteers has been recognised and rewarded in this way.’

Green Flag Award Scheme Manager Paul Todd: ‘We are thrilled to announce yet another record-breaking year for Green Flag Award parks and green spaces.’

‘A Green Flag Award provides national recognition for the hard work and dedication of all parks managers, staff and volunteers who have helped to create these fantastic places for all to enjoy.’

‘Quality green spaces are absolutely essential to happy, healthy communities. They are fundamental to our quality of life, whether in cities, towns or villages. That is why it is so significant that we have given out more awards than ever before
