This international award, now into its third decade, is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible environmental standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent visitor facilities. The Park is open during daylight hours throughout the year, it boasts a popular and inventive children’s play area, table tennis tables and free events that include “Park Live” music days on the last Sunday of the month throughout the summer, or visit just to relax, enjoy a coffee from the on-site café, in a pleasant tranquil environment amongst the mature trees and beautiful surroundings. Mayor Grenville Chappel said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive a Green Flag Award again this year as the Park is very much at the centre of what the town has to offer its residents and tourists, Falmouth Town Council take so much pride in looking after such a wonderful area that is enjoyed by everybody.” He went on to add “My thanks go out to Julian and his colleagues in the Grounds Maintenance team for their passion and hard work that achieves such high standards; we know how much quality green spaces matter to residents and visitors, and this award celebrates their dedication.” International Green Flag Award scheme manager Paul Todd said: “We are delighted to be celebrating another record-breaking year for the Green Flag Award scheme, with more Green Flags awarded this year than last year.” “Each flag honours the thousands of staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain the high standards demanded by the Green Flag Award. We are proud to have so many wonderful green spaces in the UK for people to enjoy, and hope that next year, we award even more flags.”
