Falmouth Cemetery Records now available to view online

Falmouth Town Council’s burial records for Swanpool Cemetery are now available to view from the Town Council’s website completely free of charge. Members of the public are now able to search across all of the cemetery records and perform their own genealogy searches. The online database of deceased records can be viewed by name or year and scanned images of the original pages from the historical cemetery registers are also available for viewing.

Town Clerk Mark Williams stated ‘The Town Council has received an increasing number of requests over the years for burial record searches and to meet demand the Council arranged for the records to be digitised and made publicly available. Having the registers digitised has also provided the Town Council with a back up, so should a disaster ever occur the records would not be lost forever’.

Town Council staff are still available to perform genealogy searches on behalf of members of the public and due to the book viewing software burial records can now be easily retrieved for copying if required. The online deceased database will however be updated on a regular basis for members of the public that do have online access.

If you have any queries regarding genealogy searches please contact the Town Council’s Burial Administrator Emily Middleditch on Tel; 01326 315559 or emily@falmouthtowncouncil.com
