Celebrating 350 Years of Falmouth's Royal Charter

On October 5th 1661 King Charles II granted the royal charter to Falmouth establishing it as a town and giving its citizens certain rights.

He did this as a thanks to those in Pendennis Castle for standing out against his enemies. In return, a church was built dedicated to his father, King Charles the Martyr. So October 5th this year marks the 350th anniversary.

The initiative to celebrate the anniversary with a programme of events has been led by the Rotary Club of Falmouth who have been working in conjunction with the Town Council and other local organisations.

Many activities are planned and to view the full programme of events please click here
