Carnon Carers Group Christmas Lunch with the Mayor

The Town Mayor, Councillor Geoffrey Evans, welcomed the Carnon Carers Group to the Council Offices this month for a Christmas Lunch. The Carers provided the food and the Mayor provided the refreshments.

The Town Mayor said ‘We had the most fantastic lunch which was all homemade by each of the members of the Group. I even got to try Russian Cream for the first time which was truly delicious. I was honoured to be able to provide the refreshments for the Group who provide a fantastic support network to members of our community’.

Sandra Tregidgo, the Carnon Carers Secretary stated ‘the Group were delighted to have the opportunity to join the Mayor for Christmas lunch and they really had a lovely time. The aim of the group is to make the carers feel that they are still a person. You can become a carer over night with no training at all, even neighbours can become carers. Although an isolated profession it is an extremely rewarding one’.

The Carnon Carers are a group of carers who have formed to give support to each other. They meet up every month at the Greenlawns Hotel inFalmouthwhere they have various speakers.
