VE Day 80 in Falmouth
Join us as Falmouth comes together to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day with a full day of community activities.
9:00AM – VE Day flag raising on The Moor and official proclamation.
10:45AM – Wreath-laying service at Kimberley Park Memorial Garden.
10:00AM – 10:00PM – Explore Pendennis Castle and its WWII heritage for FREE. Experience family-friendly activities, educational workshops, a wartime-themed cafe menu and street party style seating.
6PM – 10PM – Live music at Pendennis Castle from Rachel Best, Culdrose Military Wives Choir and Will Keatingfollowed by a Beacon lighting ceremony and nationwide tribute. Ensure you join in with patriotic hymn, ‘I vow to thee my country’ as the beacon is lit.
A FREE shuttle bus will run between The Moor and Pendennis Castle throughout the day, funded by Falmouth Town Council.
