A Special Council Meeting of the Full Town Council is taking place on Tuesday 3 February at 6.30pm to consider matters relating to a potential UK Town of Culture 2028 bid.

The meeting will cover:

  • An update following the first meeting of the local Steering Group.
  • The Council’s consideration of whether to support the resourcing of an Expression of Interest submission, which must be made by 31 March 2026.
  • Whether the Council should act as the umbrella body for the submission.

Public Attendance

Full Council meetings are open to the public and there is no need to register your attendance beforehand.
