Notice of Vacancy – Arwenack Ward

Following the resignation of Councillor Jon Stowell, a casual vacancy has arisen for a Town Councillor representing Arwenack Ward on Falmouth Town Council.

Cornwall Council has issued an official Notice of Vacancy for this seat (please see below).

If you are a local government elector for Arwenack Ward and would like a by-election to be held to fill the vacancy, a request must be made in writing to the Proper Officer at Cornwall Council no later than 26 June 2026.

If at least ten electors from Arwenack Ward submit valid requests by this date, a by-election will be held no later than 28 August 2026.

If fewer than ten requests are received, the vacancy may be filled by co-option by Falmouth Town Council.
