Falmouth Library Author Talk: Jasper Fforde

From his debut novel The Eyre Affair, Jasper Fforde has built a reputation for imaginative and original fiction. He is best known as the creator of the Thursday Next series. His novels combine literary detective fiction with fantasy, humour and satire.

Join us at Falmouth Library on Friday 22 May for an evening with Jasper Fforde. He will talk about his writing career and his approach to storytelling. He will also discuss the ideas behind his books.

Jasper is also the author of the Nursery Crime novels and the Last Dragonslayer series. His standalone works include Shades of Grey, Early Riser and The Constant Rabbit.

He will introduce his forthcoming novel, Dark Reading Matter. The book will be published in October 2026. It will conclude the Thursday Next series.

About the author

Jasper Fforde was born in London in 1961 and began his career working behind the scenes in the film industry before turning to writing. His debut novel, The Eyre Affair (2001), introduced readers to Thursday Next and established a long-running series that has gained an international following.

In addition to his Thursday Next books, he has written the Nursery Crime novels and the Last Dragonslayer series, as well as standalone works including Shades of Grey, Early Riser and The Constant Rabbit.

His next novel, Dark Reading Matter, due in October 2026, will mark the final instalment in the Thursday Next series.
