Author talk: From The Draw of The Sea to The Heart of The Woods with Wyl Menmuir

When

1 April 2026
18:30-19:30

Where

Falmouth Library
Municipal Buildings, The Moor, Falmouth, Cornwall, TR11 2RT, Cornwall

Join us for an evening with award winning author Wyl Menmuir as he talks about his books, The Heart of the Woods and The Draw of the Sea.

For the last few years, Wyl Menmuir has been exploring our relationships with key aspects of the natural world and in a journey that starts close to home, exploring Cornwall and Scilly, and expands to the UK, Ireland, and as far as Svalbard and Takayama, Japan.

Meet the people who plant trees, protect, study and worship them, and those who dive, sail, surf and swim in the waters around our coastlines. From encounters with bodgers and temple carvers, to tall ship sailors and freedivers, Wyl’s books explore our enduring relationships with trees and seas, and offer new perspectives on how we might relate better to the world around us.

Free tickets to this event can be booked either by emailing falmouth.library@liscornwall.org.uk or speaking to the Library team.

This event is part of a series celebrating 130 years of the Passmore Edwards Free Library in Falmouth.
