Update on Falmouth’s Festive Weekend
Falmouth’s much-loved Festive Weekend is still going ahead as planned this Saturday and Sunday, 6-7 December between 11am-5pm. However, due to the wet and windy weather forecast, a wet weather contingency plan is being implemented. Please see below for more details:
Attractions Proceeding as Planned in the Town
Festive Land Train – The land train will continue on its pre-planned route, helping shoppers easily explore the town centre.
Snow Machines – Church Street will still be transformed into a magical winter wonderland thanks to our snow machines.
Saturday only – Art Gallery & Library – In the lobby of the Municipal Buildings you can meet the real Father Christmas and donate a gift for those less fortunate and in the art gallery arts and crafts will be taking place all day on Saturday. There will also be a 10% discount in the Art Gallery Shop.
If you wander up the Old High Street, you’ll discover a brand-new Christmas Craft Market running throughout the weekend. Here, you can soak up the festive atmosphere with live music as you sip a warming mulled wine or a comforting hot chocolate, all while browsing an array of handcrafted gifts and artisan stalls. Families can enjoy face painting, and visitors can explore the eclectic mix of independent shops and local businesses that make this part of Falmouth so special, a perfect way to celebrate the season in true Cornish style.
Attractions Relocated Within the Town Centre
Christmas Market Marquee – The makers marquee, previously planned for Events Square, will now join the Market on The Moor, creating an expanded festive marketplace
Attractions moving to the Princess Pavilion:
To ensure safety and provide an enjoyable experience for all, the following attractions will move indoors to the Princess Pavilion:
Artificial Ice Rink & Snow Globe Photo Attraction – The indoor theatre will be transformed into a winter playground, complete with artificial ice rink and giant snow globe!
Live Festive Music & Choirs – Visitors can enjoy live performances while relaxing with hot drinks and cake from the Pavilion café.
Santa’s Grotto – Children can meet Santa in his indoor Grotto and receive a small gift.
Visitors can also enjoy free parking in all Cornwall Council owned car parks on Saturday 6th December to support Small Business Saturday.
