🌿 Falmouth’s Great Big Green Week 2025

7–15 June 2025

Join Falmouth Town Council and our local partners for a full week of inspiring, hands-on events celebrating sustainability, community action, and the natural world. This year’s Great Big Green Week brings together a wide range of organisations, artists, and changemakers across venues including Falmouth Library, Falmouth Art Gallery, Princess Pavilion, and Gyllyngvase Beach.

Event Schedule

Saturday 7 June – Art & Environment

River Fal Community Collage Workshop
11am – 12.30pm & 2pm – 3.30pm; Falmouth Art Gallery
Create your own section of the River Fal using recycled paper, magazines, and newspapers. All artwork will form part of a beautiful community display celebrating our local ecology.


Sunday 8 June – World Ocean Day

Festival for the Ocean
11am-3.30pm; Gyllyngvase Beach
Discover the work of amazing environmental organisations dedicated to protecting the Fal estuary and marine ecosystems. Join Falmouth Marine ConservationOcean Conservation TrustPlastic Free FalmouthFalmouth University, and many more for hands-on workshops, live demos, and ocean-themed art. Make cyanotrope prints, press seaweed, explore a mobile rock pool, visit the SPLANNA! photobooth, or leave a message on the Wishing Tree.

Falmouth & Penryn Repair Café
1.30pm – 4pm; Princess Pavilion
Bring your broken household items and volunteers will help repair them for free!

David Attenborough’s “Ocean”
Special film screening at Phoenix Cinema at 4:40pm – a powerful look at marine life and the urgent need for conservation.


Monday 9 June – Environment

SandSafe & Recycling advise
10am – 12.30pm; Falmouth Library
Meet Falmouth Town Council officers and learn how we’re working with our partners to keep Falmouth’s beaches safe and clean.

Fal and Helford Estuary MPA & Blue Meadows
1.30pm – 4.30pm; Falmouth Library
Interactive exhibits so people can experience Falmouth’s seagrass habitats and find out more about the plans for restoring Falmouth Bay.


Tuesday 10 June – Coastal Futures & Energy

South West Water & Community Energy Partnership

Get advice on saving money and resources at home.

Making Space for Sand

Explore coastal change and the future shoreline.


Wednesday 11 June – Fairtrade & Local Food


Falmouth Fairtrade Coffee & Cake

Sample Fairtrade treats and learn how simple swaps support global fairness and sustainability.
