Falmouth Town Council is responsible for the following services. Other areas of responsibility will be covered by Cornwall Council. If you cannot find what you are looking for please contact us.

Allotments

The Council have two allotment sites. The largest at Little-In-Sight, Swanvale is managed by the Falmouth and District Allotments and Gardens Society.

Bus Shelters

The Town Council provides and maintains a number of shelters and seats throughout the town.

Christmas Lighting Entertainment

A wide variety of entertainment is provided free of charge (with support from local business) throughout the festival period. The Council also contributes financially towards the provision of Christmas lighting.

Falmouth Cemetery

The Council is the local burial authority and Manages Falmouth Cemetery at Swanvale.

Falmouth Art Gallery

The nationally renowned Gallery is run by Falmouth Town Council and situated on The Moor in the upper floor of the Municipal Buildings. Open Monday to Saturday 10 am to 5 pm.

Grants

The Council provides grant assistance on application to local organisations. The policy encompasses all age groups, seeking to support the excellent work undertaken selflessly by many able and willing volunteers/organisations, in the furtherance of improving the quality of life within the Community.

The Council also provides annual grants to such worthy organisations as Falmouth Youth Club and Citizens Advice Bureau. Further the Council seeks to attract, in partnership with others, a wide range of grant aid for local projects.

Parks and Gardens

The Council acts as Trustee and Managers of Kimberley Park. These gardens pre-date 1877 and are still in the ownership of the Earl of Kimberley. The seven acre site is home to many fine ornamental trees and flower beds that have contributed to the many Britain in Bloom Awards achieved by Falmouth.

Planning Applications/Statutory Consultations

The Council has obligations as a consultee on planning, licensing, highway and other matters.

Play Areas

The Council manages several play areas including the Bowling Green Play Area at Trelawney Road in partnership with the local residents group.

Sports Pitches and Recreation

The Council manages the Trescobeas All-Weather Pitch and Recreation Area and is currently looking to develop enhanced facilities on this site.

Shopmobility

The Council funds and supports this scheme to assist users of the town by making mobility scooters available.

The Moor Piazza

The Council manages the Piazza on behalf of Cornwall Council and aims to establish a programme of regular markets and events for this part of the town.

Town Management

The Council provides the Town Management Service that creates and sustains relationships between businesses and other organisations and aims to establish a healthy and sustainable environment for visitors and residents.

Twinning

The Town is currently twinned with the Communities of Douarnenez in France and Rottenburg Wumme in Germany and enjoys active annual exchange visits. Twinning is administered by the Falmouth Twinning Association:
